Thomas Frank insists his job is safe despite a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle that left Tottenham Hotspur just five points above the relegation zone.
The loss extends Spurs’ winless run to eight Premier League matches—their worst streak since 2008. While boos echoed around the stadium at full-time,
Frank maintains he has the backing of the board.
“I spoke to the owners yesterday, so no [my job is not under threat],” Frank told TNT Sports. “I understand the frustration, but we are all aligned.”
Club legend Glenn Hoddle warned that the team must accept they are now in a “relegation fight,” while former striker Les Ferdinand noted that fans have “lost faith” in the manager.
While the hierarchy reportedly sympathizes with Frank over injuries and the loss of stars Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, internal support is wavering.
With a 12-day gap before the North London Derby against Arsenal on February 22, the club now faces a critical window to decide whether to stick with Frank or trigger a contingency plan.
