Nottingham Forest have made Premier League history by appointing Vitor Pereira as their fourth permanent manager of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 57-year-old Portuguese coach joins on an 18-month deal, replacing Sean Dyche, who was sacked last Thursday.
Pereira, who previously managed Wolves earlier this season and worked under owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos, faces an immediate crisis.
Forest sit 17th in the table, just three points above the relegation zone, following a run of only two wins in 10 games.
Despite high shot volumes under Dyche, Forest’s 8.3% conversion rate is among the league’s worst.
Pereira follows Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche in a record-breaking revolving door at the City Ground.
His first game is a Europa League knockout tie against his former club, Fenerbahce, this Thursday, followed by a league clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
While some fans hope Pereira’s “middle press” tactics will modernize the side, others fear the constant managerial turnover will lead to relegation.
Pereira, known as a short-term specialist, must now prove he can stabilize a club in freefall.
