Real Madrid suffered a second consecutive La Liga defeat on Monday, falling 1-0 to Getafe in a shock result at the Estadio Bernabéu.
Martin Satriano scored the game’s only goal in the 39th minute, beating Thibaut Courtois with a spectacular volley into the top corner. The loss leaves Alvaro Arbeloa’s side four points behind leaders Barcelona after 26 matches.
Madrid, missing the injured Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, struggled to break down Getafe’s disciplined defense.
Vinicius Jr. missed a clear first-half opening, while second-half headers from Antonio Rüdiger and Rodrygo failed to find the net.
The match ended in chaos during stoppage time as Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono was sent off for dissent, followed shortly by a red card for Getafe’s Adrián Liso for time-wasting.
Arbeloa has now lost four of his 12 games in charge. Real Madrid must regroup quickly before facing Celta Vigo this Friday to avoid a third straight loss.
