The 2024 Africa Rally Champion Michael Mukula has vowed to make a strong comeback in the Africa Rally Championship after missing the opening round of the 2026 season.
Mukula will begin his preparations by competing in a round of the Uganda National Rally Championship scheduled for March 20 in Mbale.
The event will serve as his return to competition before he shifts focus to the second round of the Africa Rally Championship, where he hopes to rebuild momentum and defend the title he won in 2024.
The Ugandan driver acknowledged the setback of missing the season opener but said he remains confident of returning to top form as the championship progresses.
“I’m confident and determined to bring back my lost glory despite missing out in the Africa Rally championship round one and with the support of Cornerstone asset managers of forty million I’m going to deliver a strong performance and represent Uganda well on the continental stage”, says Michael Mukula.
Mukula also used the moment to deliver an inspirational message ahead of International Women’s Day this Sunday, encouraging women in sports to remain persistent and focused in pursuit of success.
He urged female athletes to stay determined in their respective disciplines, saying resilience and commitment remain key ingredients for achieving greatness in sport.
