URA Ladies FC maintained their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win over Buhimba Lady Saints FC as Matchday Two of the FUFA Women Elite League produced goals and first victories across four venues on Saturday.
Playing at the Kawempe Muslim Ground, URA Ladies built on their opening day win with a confident display. Belinda Hope Nabawanuka gave the hosts an early lead before Vanessa Namazzi doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. Rashimy Nakagolo later sealed the result with a third goal and was named Woman of the Match, while Maureen Atugonza scored a late consolation for Buhimba Lady Saints.
She Kasese WFC recovered from their opening defeat to secure their first victory of the campaign with a 3-0 win against Police Women FC at the Kiira Police Arena. Peace Muhindo delivered the standout performance of the match, scoring twice to guide her side to victory. Beatrice Kasime added the third goal, while Muhindo’s brace earned her the Woman of the Match award.
At Maya Playground, UPDF Women FC and Wakiso Hill WFC shared the points after playing out a goalless draw. Wakiso Hill were featuring for the first time this season after missing the opening round, and both teams created chances but failed to break the deadlock. Wakiso Hill’s Namata Teddy was named Woman of the Match for her composed performance.
In the day’s other fixture at the Prisons Parade Ground, FC Tooro Queens edged PISGBC Queens FC 1-0. Mary Kabaculezi scored the decisive goal and was later named Woman of the Match following her match winning contribution.
The results leave URA Ladies among the early pacesetters in the Elizabeth Group after two consecutive wins as the second tier women’s competition continues to gather momentum.
