Kawempe, She Corporate Set For Decisive Women Super League Title Clash

Matchday 15 of the FUFA Women Super League will take centre stage this weekend with six fixtures scheduled across Saturday and Sunday, highlighted by a crucial title race showdown between Kawempe Muslim Ladies and She Corporate at Kawempe Muslim Ground.

The meeting on Sunday carries major implications at the top of the table. She Corporate arrive as league leaders on 35 points, holding a two point advantage over Kawempe, who will be aiming to reclaim the summit in front of their home supporters.

The two sides have been closely matched throughout the campaign, and the timing of this fixture mirrors their first round encounter earlier in the season when Kawempe needed victory to move above their rivals. On that occasion, the Valley Warriors delivered a commanding performance and secured a 2 to 0 win.

Kawempe are expected to rely on their attacking approach, particularly at home, where much of their play is built through midfield. Agnes Nabukenya provides the link between defence and attack, often combining with Dorcus Kisakye to drive the team forward, while the pace of Jovia Nakogolo and Asia Nakibuuka offers width in the wide areas.

However, Kawempe’s defensive midfield area has remained a concern in recent matches as they search for the stability that defined their earlier performances. That is a space She Corporate could target when transitioning quickly from defence to attack.

She Corporate’s rise to the top of the standings has largely been built on defensive organisation and patience. The leaders have often allowed opponents more possession before striking through counter attacks or capitalising on set pieces, with Jesca Namanda expected to play a key role in front of goal.

Their defensive record also stands out. She Corporate have yet to concede in the second round and have kept nine clean sheets so far this season, underlining their defensive discipline.

Recent meetings between the two teams underline how tight the rivalry has become. Across their last seven encounters, Kawempe have one victory while She Corporate have won twice, with the other four matches ending in draws.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Olila High School host Asubo Ladies, while Kampala Queens face St Noa Girls in a fixture expected to be one of the day’s standout contests. Rines SS also take on Uganda Martyrs High School.

Sunday’s other matches will see Makerere University WFC host She Maroons, while Lady Doves face Amus College in Masindi.

With the title race tightening, the clash between Kawempe and She Corporate could prove decisive in shaping the outcome of the Women Super League season.
