After three matches without a win, two losses and a draw, Blacks Power returned to winning ways, boosting their qualification hopes.
The clash, played at Ebenezer University Playground in Lira City, was tense and tightly contested. The first half ended goalless, with neither side able to break through.
The second half saw both teams push forward with greater urgency.
Blacks Power finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute when Backer Buyala struck, sending the home crowd into raptures. But CATDA responded almost immediately, leveling the score just two minutes later.
Determined to secure all three points, Blacks Power pressed relentlessly.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 85th minute when substitute Andrea Noll Ogwal tapped home the decisive goal.
CATDA’s night worsened in stoppage time as Tumusime Richard was shown a red card for a dangerous challenge on Emmanuel Janan Okech.
The victory lifts Blacks Power FC to 33 points, solidifying second place in the qualification zone, just two points behind leaders Kigezi Homeboys FC.
Next up, Blacks Power travel to face Kaaro Karungi FC on March 22, 2026, while CATDA FC host Young Elephants Academy FC on the same day.
