Uganda National Men’s Basketball Team, the Silverbacks, guard Arthur Kaluma delivered a standout performance off the bench as the South Bay Lakers extended their winning run with a 129-122 victory over the Rip City Remix on Sunday night.
Kaluma led South Bay in scoring with 27 points, shooting an efficient 8 of 12 from the field in a composed display that underlined his growing influence during the team’s dominant stretch.
His impact came at a key moment, with the game remaining tight deep into the fourth quarter.
South Bay carried an 11-game winning streak into the contest and were pushed throughout, taking a narrow 93-87 lead into the final period.
The Remix stayed within reach, but Kaluma and his teammates held firm late on to secure the win.
Despite being outshot 50.6 percent to 48.9 percent from the field, South Bay capitalised on their opponents’ 22 turnovers and controlled the paint, outscoring the Remix by 12 inside. R.J.
Davis added 24 points and six assists, while Malik Williams posted 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nick Smith Jr. also contributed 19 points.
The victory keeps South Bay at the top of the G League standings with a 22-8 record, holding a slim advantage over Mexico City Capitanes in the Western Conference.
