Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has been omitted from Craig Bellamy’s squad for this month’s World Cup play-offs, casting doubt on his international future.
The 35-year-old has been without a club since leaving Pumas in December and has not played for Wales since September 2024. Bellamy said: “He hasn’t played competitive football in seven months. He’s not at a club.”
With Ben Davies injured, Fulham’s Harry Wilson is set to captain Wales against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cardiff on 26 March. The winners will host Italy or Northern Ireland five days later for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
Wales’ preparations are hampered by injuries to Davies, Chris Mepham and Kieffer Moore, though goalkeeper Danny Ward returns after four months out.
Efforts to persuade Tottenham defender Ashley Phillips to switch allegiance from England also fell short.
