Steve Tikolo’s return as head coach gets its first real test today as Uganda’s Cricket Cranes take on Namibia A at 3PM EAT in the opening T20 of their 2026 season.
The match at Namibia is the first of two T20s before Uganda switches to 50 over games later in the tour.
This series is a key part of Uganda’s preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B in August and the Africa Sub Regional T20 qualifiers in Nigeria in October.
Tikolo, back for a third stint with the national side on a three-year deal, leads a youthful but balanced squad blending experience with emerging talent.
Captain Riazat Ali Shah will be supported by senior players Simon Ssesazi, Kenneth Waiswa and pacer Bilal Hassun, while three players, Charles Musemeza, Anas Baig and Gerald Olipa, make their senior debuts.
Uganda will be looking to set the tone early in the series.
Namibia A, coming off exposure at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka and India, provides a stern challenge, giving Uganda a high-level test under Tikolo’s guidance.
Full Squad: Riazat Ali Shah, Robinson Obuya, Simon Ssesazi, Anas Mirza Mirza Baig, Kenneth Waiswa, Cyrus Kakuru, Charles Musemeza, Juma Miyaji, Cosmas Kyewuta, Bilal Hassun, Henry Ssenyondo, Joseph Baguma, Mathew Musinguzi, Gerald Olipa.
