Kitara stormed into the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup with a commanding 6-0 victory over Bunyaruguru United at Royals Park in Butema on Wednesday evening.
The hosts took control early and never looked back. Gaddafi Wahab opened the scoring in the sixth minute, setting the tone for a one-sided contest.
Jimmy Kalema, returning after a two-month injury layoff, doubled the lead before the half-hour mark, while Kato Samuel added a third before the break to give Kitara a 3-0 halftime advantage.
Bunyaruguru United struggled to respond, with Kitara’s defence largely untroubled throughout the match.
The hosts maintained their intensity after the interval, as Benjamin Nyakoojo made it four with just under 25 minutes remaining.
George Senkaaba and Kabon Living completed the rout late on, sealing a comprehensive performance for Wasswa Bbosa’s side and underlining their credentials in the competition.
The result sends Kitara into the last eight and a step closer to representing Uganda in the 2026/2027 CAF Confederation Cup.
