The Pool Association of Uganda has officially launched its electoral roadmap, setting in motion a structured process that will culminate in the election of new leaders at the National Elective General Assembly on May 23, 2026.
The roadmap begins with the nomination period, scheduled from March 20 to March 30, 2026. During this window, interested candidates will collect nomination forms and submit their bids for various leadership positions.
The electoral committee has confirmed that all aspirants must pay a non-refundable fee: two million shillings for those contesting the Chairperson’s seat and one million shillings for all other positions.
Positions up for election include Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer, Technical Director, Director of Public Relations, Head of Schools and Institutions, Head of Women’s Affairs, and Clubs Representative.
Scrutiny of nominations, objections, and validation will take place on March 31, with the final list of candidates published on April 8. This announcement will officially open the campaign period.
District-level elections are slated for April 9, followed by regional elections on April 26. Candidates will then participate in debates on May 3, offering a platform to present their agendas to stakeholders.
Regional campaigns will continue until May 22, setting the stage for the decisive vote at the National Elective General Assembly the following day.
