Mamelodi Sundowns head to Mali on Sunday aiming to secure a CAF Champions League semifinal berth against Stade Malien at Stade 26 Mars (kick-off 6pm CAT).
The Brazilians hold a commanding 3-0 lead from the first leg in Pretoria, thanks to goals from Khuliso Mudau, Brayan Léon and Iqraam Rayners.
Yet Stade Malien’s strong home record—victories over Simba SC, Espérance and Petro de Luanda—means the tie is far from over.
Coach Mauril Njoya has promised a fightback, while striker Taddeus Nkeng will be key for the hosts. Sundowns, meanwhile, look to midfielder Nuno Santos to guide them through, as last year’s finalists aim to make a statement away from home.
Even a 2-0 defeat would see Sundowns progress, but they’ll want to seal their spot with authority.
