Michael Carrick branded Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth “crazy” after inconsistent penalty calls left his side frustrated.
Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot, but Amad Diallo was denied a second penalty despite clear contact from Adrien Truffert. Bournemouth immediately equalised through Ryan Christie.
United regained the lead via a James Hill own goal, only for Harry Maguire to be sent off and concede a penalty for a foul on Evanilson—an incident Carrick said mirrored Diallo’s challenge. VAR did not intervene on either call.
“We should have had another penalty and the game would have been different,” Carrick said.
Despite the setback, United remain seven points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea and well placed for Champions League qualification.
