The path to the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Finals has been unveiled, setting the stage for an intense showdown between Africa’s football giants.
The draw in Cairo was led by Ivorian football legend Siaka Tiene and Egyptian football icon Ahmed Hassan.
Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC will lock horns with reigning champions Al Ahly SC. Simba, yet to savor victory at the continental level, will be aiming to dethrone the formidable Al Ahly and make history.
Meanwhile, TP Mazembe, the four-time champions from DR Congo, will face off against Atletico de Petroleos from Angola, as they seek to reclaim their former glory.
In another compelling fixture, Esperance Sportive de Tunis will square off against Asec Mimosas, with both sides eager to assert their dominance on the continental stage. Asec Mimosas, fueled by their recent TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations triumph, will be looking to extend their success in the Champions League.
Completing the quarter-final lineup, Young Africans from Tanzania will clash with Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa. Young Africans will be aiming to avenge last season’s close call in the Confederation Cup final and Mamelodi Sundowns striving to replicate their 2016 triumph.
The first leg of the quarter-finals is scheduled to take place on March 29th and 30th, with the return fixtures set for April 5th and 6th.
