The National Basketball League continues tonight, Wednesday, March 25, with six fixtures across Lugogo Indoor Arena, ABJA Park Naalya, and Jaguars Den Kira. Lugogo will host a televised double-header.
At 7pm, the UCU Lady Canons face the UPDF Lady Tomahawks live on NBS Sport 2, streaming exclusively via AfroMobile. Later at 9pm, the UCU Canons take on the JKL Dolphins, also live on NBS Sport.
The Lady Canons have been one of the standout teams of the 2026 season, storming to seven straight victories to maintain a flawless record. Their wins have been emphatic, including dominant displays against Victoria She Crocs, KIU Rangers, KCCA Leopards, Pearl Queens, and Miracle Eaglets.
Shillah Lamunu has spearheaded the charge, averaging 16 points per game while anchoring both ends of the floor. Mariam Namukwaya contributes 13 points per game, while Faith Aseru and Doreen Nakibuuka provide consistent scoring support. Defensively, Sarah Namale, Martina Anyango, and Sylvia Nakituuka have been crucial on the boards.
Despite their unbeaten run, the Lady Canons sit third on the table, having played fewer games than leaders KCCA Leopards and second-placed JT Lady Jaguars. Head coach Nicholas Natuhereza credits the team’s success to a blend of experience and youthful energy.
“Our focus is making it back to the finals,” Natuhereza said. “We want to play aggressively, communicate well, and push in transition; that’s been key to these wins.”
The UPDF Lady Tomahawks enter the contest under pressure. With four wins from nine games, they are on a three-game losing streak, having fallen to KIU Rangers, KCCA Leopards, and JT Lady Jaguars. Ruth Noella Letaru has been a bright spot, averaging 13.2 points per game, while Stella Maris Lunkuse has dominated the boards with over 10 rebounds and nearly four assists per game. The Tomahawks will need a near-perfect performance to upset the in-form Lady Canons.
In the men’s game at Lugogo, both UCU Canons and JKL Dolphins are searching for stability after inconsistent starts. UCU have split their opening six games (3-3) but sit at the bottom of the standings, while JKL have managed just two wins in eight. Both sides are coming off defeats—UCU narrowly to KCCA Panthers, and JKL heavily to City Oilers—making tonight’s clash crucial for momentum.
Elsewhere, ABJA Park Naalya hosts the in-form Namuwongo Blazers against Rezlife Saints. The Blazers are chasing a sixth straight win after recovering from an opening loss to City Oilers, while the Saints, who started with five consecutive victories, will be eager to bounce back from their first defeat against Sommet.
At the same venue, Victoria She Crocs meet Magic Stormers in the women’s league. The She Crocs aim to recover from a loss to JKL Lady Dolphins, while the Stormers look to extend their winning run after victories over KIU Rangers and Angels.
Meanwhile, Jaguars Den in Kira will stage two fixtures: JT Lady Jaguars versus Miracle Eaglets at 7pm, followed by JT Jaguars against UMU Flames at 9pm.
