Uganda Athletics Federation president Dominic Otucet has been returned unopposed for another four-year term, extending his leadership that began in 2002.
The confirmation was made by returning officer Kenneth Kitariko during the Elective General Assembly held on March 28 at Mandela National Stadium.
Otucet’s tenure has coincided with Uganda’s rise to global prominence in long-distance running, producing Olympic and world champions such as Stephen Kiprotich, Joshua Cheptegei, Peruth Chemutai, and Jacob Kiplimo.
His unopposed return signals continuity at the helm, with stakeholders hopeful his experience will further consolidate Uganda’s dominance while nurturing the next generation of talent.
He will serve alongside a newly elected executive team:
– Lawrence Kavuma – 1st Vice President
– Annet Jeska Kabasindi – 2nd Vice President Technical
– Dr Michael Byaruhanga – Vice President Technical
– Beatrice Ayikoru – General Secretary
– Godwin Byamukama – Assistant General Secretary
– Faustin Kiwa – Treasurer
– Paul Okello – Organising Secretary
– David Mawerere Namayo – Publicity Secretary
