DR Congo’s iconic supporter Lumumba Vea, real name Michel Kuka Mboladinga, will miss his nation’s World Cup play-off against Jamaica in Guadalajara after failing to secure a visa.
Known for his sharp suits and statuesque matchday pose honoring Patrice Lumumba, he became a sensation during AFCON 2025.
He revealed on social media that despite a last-ditch attempt in Addis Ababa, visa processing delays made the trip impossible.
A source said missing bank statements stalled his application. He has since returned to Kinshasa, pledging to support the Leopards from afar: “Whether near or far, we remain united behind our Leopards.”
DR Congo, chasing their first World Cup appearance since 1974, face Jamaica in Tuesday’s inter-confederation play-off.
