Blacks Power FC’s reign at the summit of the FUFA Big League came to an abrupt end after a narrow 1-0 loss to Ntugasaze FC at Kavumba Recreation Ground in Wakiso.
The clash of table toppers lived up to its billing, with Ntugasaze determined to avenge their earlier 2-1 defeat away to Blacks Power. A tense first half saw both sides cancel each other out, but the breakthrough arrived in the 58th minute when midfielder Isaac Kiberu struck the decisive goal.
Despite Blacks Power’s resistance, Ntugasaze held firm to secure all three points. The result saw Blacks Power slip to second place on 39 points, while Kigezi Homeboys FC climbed to the top with 42 points after defeating Nebbi Central FC 2-0.
Blacks Power will now aim to bounce back when they host Wakiso Giants on Sunday, April 12. Ntugasaze, meanwhile, will travel to CATDA FC as they look to maintain their momentum.
