Kenya’s Sports PS Elijah Mwangi says all facilities earmarked for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations must be ready within six months.
CAF’s latest report found none of Kenya’s proposed venues meet Category 4 standards.
Talanta Sports Complex must hit 80 percent completion by August, Kasarani requires upgrades in lighting, drainage and crowd control, while Nyayo faces ageing infrastructure concerns.
Mwangi insists progress is on track, with seats already installed at Talanta, canopy works at Nyayo, and contractors active at Kirigiti, Kipchoge Keino, Bukhungu and Mombasa stadiums.
He confirmed the Local Organising Committee has been gazetted and said Harambee Stars’ recent FIFA Series outing in Rwanda is part of team preparations.
He spoke in Kiharu, where he also launched grassroots sports projects and highlighted new academies and stadiums under construction.
