Stanbic Black Pirates host Kenya’s Nondescripts this afternoon in a decisive Enterprise Cup semifinal, with kickoff set for 4pm at Kings Park in Bweyogerere.
Pirates head into the clash as Uganda’s last remaining side in the competition, carrying the country’s hopes after Heathens, KOBS and Buffaloes were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Their own path has been far from straightforward, edging KCB Rugby 11-10 in a tight, physical contest that tested their defence and composure.
Standing in their way are Nondescripts, the record 25-time champions of the Enterprise Cup, who arrive with pedigree and efficiency despite not dominating the Kenyan domestic scene this season.
They booked their semifinal place with a 29-13 win over KOBS in Nakuru, scoring four tries and showing clinical finishing.
Pirates will look to make the most of home advantage as they return to Kings Park, hoping the Bweyogerere crowd can push them past a disciplined Nondescripts side capable of punishing mistakes.
The winner will advance to the final, where they will face either Kabras Sugar or Menengai Oilers, who meet in the other semifinal in Nairobi.
