Usain Bolt has urged Australian sprint prodigy Gout Gout to build a strong support team to avoid distractions as his career takes off.
The 18-year-old, son of South Sudanese immigrants, ran 19.67s to win the 200m at the Australian Championships and added the under-20 100m in 10.21s.
He debuts in the Diamond League 200m in Oslo on 10 June against Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo.
Bolt, holder of the 100m and 200m world records, said: “Hopefully he has the right set of people to guide him and keep him focused… because if you mess up on track and field, then it all goes away.”
