KCCA FC have exacted revenge on former coach Abdallah Mubiru’s UPPC FC, keeping themselves firmly in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) title race.
Mubiru’s men had stunned KCCA 1-0 at Lugogo in the first leg last year, marking his first return to the club since his controversial sacking.
However, the Kasasiro Boys turned the tables in Entebbe on Tuesday afternoon, thanks to Sammy Ssebaduka’s decisive second-half strike.
The winning goal came from a rare defensive lapse, as UPPC goalkeeper Rodgers Omedwa misjudged an aerial delivery, allowing Ssebaduka to slot the ball into an empty net in the 71st minute.

The victory is a timely boost for KCCA, who had narrowly edged Kitara FC 1-0 last week, reasserting their presence in the title conversation.
With 51 points, the 13-time UPL champions remain second in the standings, trailing leaders Vipers by four points after the defending champions defeated Buhimba 2-0 in Hoima, extending their lead to 55 points.

KCCA will travel to face struggling Calvary in Midigo on Saturday, while Vipers host UPPC a day later.
The stage is set for a blockbuster clash at Lugogo on Wednesday, April 29, as the two giants prepare to lock horns in what could be a decisive title showdown.
