Kenya Police Bullets defender Natooro Desire Katisi has joined the Queen Cranes camp as Uganda steps up preparations for the final round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Ghana U-20 women’s national team.
The squad remains in residential training at the FUFA Technical Centre, where focus has shifted fully to the upcoming two-legged tie that will determine qualification for the 2026 tournament in Poland.
Katisi, who featured in training after linking up with the team, strengthens Uganda’s defensive options at a critical stage of the campaign. Her arrival comes as the technical team intensifies tactical, technical and physical preparations ahead of the decisive fixtures.
“I feel excited to link up with the team for the final hurdle. I already feel we are in the right shape to face Ghana. Everyone’s aim here is to qualify for the World Cup. We also call upon the fans to continue backing us,” Katisi said.
Uganda will travel to Accra for the first leg on May 3 at the Accra Sports Stadium, before hosting the return leg in Kampala on May 9. The winner on aggregate will secure a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The tie presents an opportunity for the Queen Cranes to reach the global stage, with preparations now entering their final phase.
