Infantino to Seek Fourth Term

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed he will run for re‑election in 2027, aiming to extend his tenure through 2031.

The announcement came at the FIFA Congress in Vancouver, ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The vote is set for 18 March in Morocco, co‑host of the 2030 finals.

Infantino, in office since 2016, has overseen expansion of both men’s and women’s World Cups.

He enjoys strong backing from CONMEBOL but faces criticism over ticket prices and controversial awards.
