Iran’s football chief Mehdi Taj says their host “is FIFA, not Mr Trump or America” as he demands guarantees that officials linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) will not be disrespected during the US‑staged World Cup.
Taj was denied entry to Canada for the FIFA Congress after his visa was cancelled over IRGC ties.

FIFA has apologised and invited Iran to Zurich talks on 20 May. US officials maintain that anyone connected to the IRGC will be barred from entry.
