Uganda U-20 Women’s National Team captain Agnes Nabukenya says the Queen Cranes are ready for Saturday’s decisive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Ghana at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.
The Queen Cranes go into the return leg needing to overturn a 2-1 first-leg defeat suffered in Accra last Sunday, with Uganda still firmly in contention thanks to the away goal scored in Ghana.
Speaking after the team’s final training session on Friday morning, Nabukenya said the squad was fully prepared and motivated ahead of the biggest match in the team’s history.
“The players are ready. We have had very good training sessions and today we completed our final one with everyone in good condition. All the players are fit, motivated, and ready to give their best. Our focus is on delivering tomorrow. We call upon Ugandans to come and support us in big numbers,” Nabukenya said.
Victory over Ghana would see Uganda become the first women’s national football team from the country to qualify for a FIFA World Cup.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 4pm at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, with the aggregate winner qualifying for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026.
