Ghana U-20 women’s national team head coach Charles Sampson says the Black Princesses are fully prepared for Saturday’s decisive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda after completing their final training session in Kampala.
Ghana carry a narrow 2-1 advantage into the return leg at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, with a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026 at stake.
The Black Princesses trained at the match venue on Friday as they finalised preparations for the high-stakes encounter against the Queen Cranes, who are seeking to overturn the first-leg deficit on home soil.
Speaking after training, Sampson expressed confidence in the work his side has done ahead of the qualifier.
“We have trained, and I trust that the work we have done is enough to qualify us for the World Cup,” Sampson said.
“We are hoping to get a good game tomorrow and secure qualification. The players are fully fit and ready for the final game.”
Ghana head into the fixture with a slight advantage after last weekend’s victory in Accra, although Uganda’s away goal has kept the tie finely balanced going into the return leg.
The winner on aggregate will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with the Queen Cranes hoping to become the first Uganda women’s national team to reach a FIFA World Cup tournament.
