CAF president Patrice Motsepe will on Monday hold meetings with senior officials from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania as preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations continue to gather pace.
According to CAF, Motsepe will be in Nairobi for the Africa Forward Summit taking place on May 11 and 12, where he is also scheduled to speak on Monday afternoon.
The meetings are expected to focus heavily on preparations for the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by the three East African nations under the Pamoja bid.
Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania are set to stage the continent’s biggest football tournament in June and July 2027, marking the first time the competition will be hosted in the CECAFA region in modern history.
Motsepe’s engagement with officials from the three countries comes at a crucial stage as infrastructure works, stadium upgrades, transport planning and operational structures continue to dominate preparations ahead of the tournament.
The CAF president’s visit also places further spotlight on the region’s readiness to deliver the expanded competition, which is expected to attract major global attention and thousands of fans across East Africa.
CAF said the Africa Forward Summit aims to showcase Africa’s innovation capacity while promoting partnerships and collaborative solutions across the continent.
