Manchester United chiefs will recommend Michael Carrick as permanent manager to Sir Jim Ratcliffe after his successful caretaker spell.
Carrick, 44, has guided United from seventh to third since January, securing Champions League qualification with 10 wins from 15 games.

His tenure included victories over City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, while earning praise for youth development and long-term planning.
Executives Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are convinced Carrick is the right choice. Formal talks are expected once Ratcliffe approves, with United closing their season against Nottingham Forest and Brighton.
