KCCA FC did not end 2021/2022 league season completely empty handed after they were crowned winners of the second edition of the Nkurunziza Cup.
The Kasasiro boys honored an invitation by Burundian side , Aigle Noir Sports Club to be part of the tournament that is organized every year in memory of former President Pierre Nkurunziza who passed on in 2020 after a cardiac arrest.
The goal scoring rampage was commenced by forward Julius Poloto whose league season action was paused by injuries, one of the reasons KCCAs tittle chase was impossible however, his comeback with flamboyant defender Peter Magambo including debutant Moses Waiswa showed an all different KCCA ready for title contention in the forthcoming league season .He(Julius Poloto) later on scored a brace followed by goals from youngsters, Charles Lwanga and Ibrahim Juma to make a 4 goal lead.
The event was graced by Burundi’s President Evariste Ndayishimiye including dignitaries from East Africa who attended the event.
KCCA FC who finished 2nd in the concluded season with an 18 point gap from Uganda Premier League Champions, Vipers SC have continued to look for solutions to end their trophy drought by signing players like Moses Waiswa , including inviting Rulani Mokwena the assistant coach of Mamelodi Sundowns to help in reinforcement and upskilling of players and staff respectively .
