The FUFA Executive is set to embark on a comprehensive country-wide tour of the eight Regional Football Associations, an initiative, the football governing body says is to foster closer ties with lower league clubs and other football stakeholders across Uganda. Led by President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, FUFA says this tour aims to facilitate dialogue, address challenges, and outline the body’s grassroots football programs.
The tour will traverse the diverse football landscapes of the West Nile, Northern, Northeast, Eastern, Buganda, Kampala, Western, and Kitara regions, engaging with stakeholders at every level of the football pyramid.
Central to the objectives of this interaction is the elucidation of FUFA’s grassroots football initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed about the organization’s programs and strategies for nurturing talent and promoting the sport at the grassroots level. Additionally, the tour will provide a platform for stakeholders to voice their concerns and challenges faced by lower league clubs in Uganda.
The FUFA Executive will engage with various groups during the tour, including the Executive members of the Regional Football Associations, District Football Association (DFA) Executive members, and National Delegates from the respective DFAs. Moreover, representatives from men’s and women’s 3rd and 4th Division Leagues will also participate, ensuring diverse perspectives and voices are heard.
FUFA say that through this constructive dialogue and collaboration, the Executive aims to address issues raised by stakeholders, foster consensus on a way forward, and strengthen the grassroots football ecosystem in Uganda.
