In the boys’ category, Mukono Kings opened the tournament in dominant fashion with a commanding 6-1 victory over Tagy High School. Standard High School Zzana also impressed on the opening day, defeating Lakeview High School 5-1 before edging into the spotlight with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Mukono Kings.

The girls’ category produced equally entertaining contests. Standard High School Zzana began with a convincing 6-1 victory over Tororo Girls, while Tagy High School defeated Shammah 4-2 before securing another impressive result, a 4-1 win over Mukono Kings.
Shammah bounced back from their opening loss in style, thrashing Lakeview High School 5-0, while Tororo Girls recovered from their defeat against Standard High to beat Lakeview 6-1.
The final girls’ fixture of the day saw Mukono Kings produce one of the standout performances of the tournament, defeating Standard High School Zzana 5-2 in a closely watched encounter.
Each school played two matches on the opening day, ensuring plenty of action and giving teams an early opportunity to establish themselves in the standings.
USSSA officials said the Weekend Beach Soccer League was created to keep students actively involved in sport beyond traditional school competitions while helping young players develop their skills in a competitive environment.
Attention now turns to Match Day Two, scheduled for June 20, 2026, with organisers expected to announce the venue in the coming days as schools continue their quest for the inaugural league title.
