On the second day of the Easter Youth ODI Series, the Baby Cricket Cranes of Uganda bounced back from their defeat in the opening match against Kenya U19 by clinching a resounding win against Rwanda U19, triumphing by five wickets.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Rwanda struggled to set a competitive total, managing only 87 runs in 40 overs before being bowled out. Balidawa Ali, Gurjivan Singh, and Sohera Richard led Uganda’s bowling attack, each claiming three wickets, while Kidega Chris chipped in with another wicket. Rwanda’s innings was marked by a lack of boundaries, with no sixes and just three fours contributing to their total.
In pursuit of the target, the Ugandan team showcased a strong batting performance, reaching the required runs in the 30th over with five wickets in hand. Olipa Gerald emerged as the top scorer for Uganda, contributing a crucial 54 runs, the highest individual score of the match, including six boundaries.
The series continues tomorrow, March 28th, with Kenya U19 set to face off against Rwanda U19 in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.
