Mandela National Stadium (Namboole) is set to return to action as it hosts a double header on 1st May 2024. The lineup will feature Bul FC facing off against Vipers SC, and KCCA FC taking on SC Villa Jogoo.
The announcement was made on Wednesday morning by FUFA and this will be part of the test events before the official reopening of the stadium, which has been under renovation.
Namboole Stadium is one of the venues Uganda will present for the joint hosting of the AFCON 2027 tournament alongside Kenya and Tanzania, known as the Pamoja AFCON.
This marks a crucial step in meeting the requirements set by CAF before receiving the green light to host international games. The renovation of the stadium cost 97 billion shillings.
