In the first leg of the 2023/24 Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinals, NEC and Kitara emerged with crucial advantages in their respective matchups.
Joseph Dhata’s pivotal away goal secured a 1-1 draw for NEC against BUL FC at Njeru Technical Centre on Sunday.
The home side initially took the lead through Jeromy Kirya’s impressive 17th-minute strike, showcasing his exceptional form with five goals in the tournament. The tension now mounts as both teams prepare for the return leg at MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday 4th May.
Meanwhile, Kitara demonstrated their prowess with a commanding 3-1 victory over Pajule Lions at Masindi Municipal Stadium on Saturday 27th April.
Solomon Okwalinga, Denis Omedi, and Frank Tumwesigye found the net for Kitara, while Martin Wokorach salvaged a goal for the visitors.
With this win, Kitara holds a significant advantage heading into the second leg, scheduled to take place at the Pajule Primary School Grounds this Sunday May 5th.
