The 2024 Comboni League continued its journey with the third installment, held on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at UICT Nakawa, where teams gathered to showcase their talent and passion for mini-football. The event, hosted at the league’s home ground, exemplified the camaraderie, teamwork, and excitement synonymous with the Comboni League.
A diverse array of teams, including Omundiimu Football Club, Ekikompola FC, Kihiihi League FC, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomusi FC, Managers Team, and The Pioneers, among others, enthusiastically participated in the mini-football tournament. Mbabazi Happy, a player from the Managers Team, emphasized the league’s role in uniting the Comboni community and increasing its visibility across the country, aiming to attract more students to join the institution.
The Comboni League, an initiative of BICOSA (Bishop Comboni College Kambuga Old Students Association), holds a significant place in the sporting landscape of the Kigezi Subregion, particularly in Kanungu District. Bishop Comboni College Kambuga, renowned for its academic excellence, serves as the cornerstone of the league’s foundation.
Currently comprising 12 teams competing in a league format, the Comboni League season spans eight months, providing ample opportunities for teams to demonstrate their prowess and vie for the coveted championship title.
The fourth outing is scheduled for May 12th at the same venue.
