Ecobank on Tuesday contributed UGX 10 Million to the Uganda Netball federation towards the construction of a “state-of-the-art” Netball Facility. The announcement was made at the fundraising dinner organized by the federationat Serena Hotel Kampala.
The Uganda Netball Federation has plans to commission The State-of-Art Netball Home, a dedicated headquarters for Ugandan netball which will include Netball courts, accommodation facilities, sports shops, sports medicine facilities, gyms, swimming pools and other facilities that advance the athleticism, training and competitive capacity of our netball teams; present and still to come.
Speaking at the dinner on behalf of the Managing Director, Group Marketing Manager, and Consumer Banking, Manager, Charity Kamusiime said, “Ecobank is the official bank Sponsor of Sports in the financial service sector of Uganda and it is our imperative to make sure that we are relentless in the provision of that support. Thus, we are giving the Uganda Netball Federation Uganda Shillings 10,000,000 Million (Uganda Shillings Ten Million).” “As Ecobank, we remain committed to growing Uganda as we grow our talent in and beyond Africa. She-Cranes are ranked number 1 in East Africa, 2 nd in Africa and 6 th in the world. The incredible athletes will be going to Birmingham, England, to participate — and no doubt dominate — in the Commonwealth Games next week from 26 th July to 7 th August, followed by an England Tour later this year, and the Netball World Cup that is to take place in South Africa in 2023. The She-Cranes unveiled the jerseys they will don for the Commonwealth games and the Netball World Cup.
