The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) will hold tryouts for the national 3×3 basketball teams, aimed at selecting talented young players for the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup.
The tryouts are open to players, both male and female who are 18 years old or younger and possess the necessary skills to compete at an international level.
The tryouts will be held on Wednesday 22nd May, 2024 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena starting at 9 AM.
FUBA Youth and Mini Basketball Commissioner, Ayebare Patricia said these trials are a crucial step in forming a competitive team to represent Uganda on the global stage.
She encouraged interested participants to showup ready to impress and compete for a spot on the national team.
The tryouts will be held under the supervision of experienced coaches who will evaluate players based on their technical abilities, basketball IQ, and overall potential.
The 2024 FIBA 3X3 U18 World Cup will be held in Hungary starting on August 26th, 2024 and will run until August 30th, 2024.
Uganda will participate in both the men’s and women’s categories and compete against 40 other countries. The Pearl of Africa finished 11th in the 2017 edition of the tournament.
