Sports Club Villa captain Kenneth Ssemakula has officially announced his departure from the club, marking the end of a significant three-year stint that began in 2021 when he joined from BUL.
During his time with Villa, Ssemakula played a crucial role in leading the team to its record 17th league title in the 2023/24 Startimes Uganda Premier League season.
His notable contributions include scoring a decisive late winner against URA in the penultimate round, a goal that positioned Villa for their historic title victory.
In his farewell message to the SC Villa community, Ssemakula expressed deep gratitude towards his teammates, the coaching staff, the club’s leadership, and the fans.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your skipper and player over these past seasons,” Ssemakula wrote to the players, describing them as “brothers in arms” and praised their dedication and passion.
Ssemakula also extended his thanks to the coaching staff and technical team, acknowledging their crucial role in the club’s successes.
He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fans, describing them as the “lifeblood” of the club saying, “Your passion, your energy, and your unwavering support have been the driving force behind our success.”
It remains to be seen which club will secure the services of the talented defender who started his senior career with Busoga United.
