Uganda Rugby Union President Godwin Kayangwe and CEO Isaac Nsubuga Lutwama presided over a critical planning meeting on Tuesday morning with various stakeholders and service providers to ensure successful preparations for the upcoming Rugby Africa Cup.
The meeting aimed to streamline coordination and address logistical challenges ahead of the tournament.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included security measures, accommodation arrangements for participating teams, transportation logistics, and the promotion of the event to boost local and international attendance.
Representatives from the Rugby Union, sponsors, and rugby clubs provided input to enhance the event’s organization and execution.
Following the meeting, officials conducted a thorough inspection of Namboole Stadium, which will host the Rugby Africa Cup matches. The facility tour included assessments of the playing field, seating arrangements, locker rooms, and other essential amenities.
The Rugby Africa Cup, scheduled to take place from July 18th to 29th, will not only feature intense competition among top African rugby nations but will also serve as a crucial qualifying event for the Rugby World Cup.
