EURO 2024: Southgate Names England Final Squad
England manager Gareth Southgate has unveiled his 26-man squad for the upcoming 2024 UEFA European tournament in Germany.
The final list features a mix of familiar faces and some unexpected inclusions to represent the nation at this year’s Euros, scheduled to start next Friday, 14th June, in Germany.
However there have been some notable exclusions from the 33-player provisional squad that was selected by Southgate on May 21st.
The players dropped from final squad include, Harry Maguire, Jack Grealish, James Maddison, Curtis Jones, Jarrad Branthwaite and goalkeeper James Trafford.
Maguire’s exclusion is due to a calf injury that has sidelined him since mid-April, while his Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw has been included, despite not playing since February due to a hamstring problem.
