Zambia made a strong statement in the first leg of the final round of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers by defeating Morocco 3-1 at home. The standout performer was Namute Chileshe, who scored a remarkable hat-trick to secure the victory for her team.
Chileshe opened the scoring in the 13th minute, displaying her speed and game awareness to beat the Moroccan goalkeeper with a powerful low shot. Ten minutes later, she doubled Zambia’s lead with a solo run, showcasing her individual brilliance.
Morocco responded through Azraf Kautar, who managed to reduce the deficit with a well-taken goal. However, Chileshe sealed the win for Zambia by completing her hat-trick late in the match, ensuring a 3-1 victory.
The two teams will face each other again on Saturday to determine who will secure a place in the U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
