Wananchi’s offensive strength continued in the second quarter with an additional two goals, while Thunders managed to score only once, making the halftime score 7-1 in favor of Wananchi.
In the third quarter, both teams added two goals each to their tally. Thunders’ Jamirah Nkoleki and Shadia Nandugga each scored once, but their efforts were matched by goals from Wananchi’s Jolly Alimo and Peace Anyango. The quarter ended with a score of 9-3.
The final quarter saw Wananchi solidify their victory with two more goals, while Thunders failed to score. Wananchi’s Doreen Mbabazi and Phiona Nakalyowa sealed the win with their goals in the last quarter, bringing the final score to 10-3.
Key players for Wananchi included Doreen Mbabazi and Jolly Alimo, who each scored multiple goals throughout the match. Thunders’ efforts were hampered by a yellow card given to Benitah Nakayemba in the fourth quarter.
Despite Thunders’ attempts to gain momentum with penalty corners in the final minutes, Wananchi’s defense held firm, preventing any further scoring from Thunders.
