Over the weekend, the Rotary Club of Kampala held a special Golf Fundraiser at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club in Kitante. This event aimed to support the establishment of a Youth Skilling Centre in Gulu, in honor of the late Dr. Martin Aliker. The tournament featured a range of talented golfers competing in various categories, with impressive performances across the board.
Hannington Mulumba and Jenna Namisolo emerged victorious in the overall men’s and women’s categories, each registering an impressive 41 points.
The corporate winner category was dominated by Team MSL, which included Ibra Bagalana, John Musiimenta, Andrew Opio, and Ellis Katwebaze. They collectively returned 108 points to the clubhouse.
Team Matt Abacus claimed the Gold winner category with a combined score of 97 points, thanks to the efforts of Devshi Senghani, Collins Mwesigwa, Ernest Wasake, and Mashru Tushar. The Silver category was won by the Rotary Club of Kitante.
In the individual categories, Hassan Kiyemba triumphed in Group A men, while Henry Rugamba and Ian Mutibwa excelled in Groups B and C, respectively.
The fundraiser not only highlighted the outstanding talent within the golfing community but also demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering the boy child in Gulu through the envisioned Youth Skilling Centre.
