Ignite Basketball Academy, located in Kasangati, Masooli, along Gayaza Road, has been a beacon of hope for young athletes since its inception in 2019 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Founded by Lubuulwa Raymond Reginz, who serves as both head coach and CEO, the academy has navigated numerous challenges to provide a platform for youth to develop their basketball skills.
Despite its progress, the academy currently faces a significant hurdle: its substandard, termite-eaten wooden hoops. To enhance the playing experience and ensure a safer environment for the players, Ignite Basketball Academy is fundraising to replace these wooden hoops with metallic ones. The goal is to raise UGX 5.6 million for this critical upgrade.
“Our mission is to promote basketball talent, inspire youth, improve education, deter drug addiction, and motivate kids to become future leaders,” said Raymond.
The academy’s holistic approach goes beyond sports, aiming to shape the next generation comprehensively.
“We are focused on expansion, character development, and spiritual growth, aiming to create a holistic and sustainable platform for youth development,” added Raymond.
By nurturing the overall growth and well-being of young athletes, Ignite Basketball Academy aspires to create a comprehensive and sustainable platform that extends beyond basketball skills.
To achieve this mission, Ignite Basketball Academy is leveraging social media platforms like Twitter and personal appeals to spread the word and garner support for their fundraising efforts.
