In preparation for the upcoming Pool King & Queen Championship Grand Finale, the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has released the official rules and regulations to govern the event.
The grand finale that will take place at the Paradise Spot in Jinja, with a total of 64 men and 32 women competing for the coveted titles, will feature seven main rules, including that it’ll take place on the weekend of June 21st -22nd, 2024.
The championship finals will kick off at precisely 9 am on both days, with the players’ briefing setting the stage for the thrilling matches.
One of the other rules states that the games will be played under the black ball rules, with the men’s players racing to 7 wins and the ladies racing to 6 wins up to the semi-finals. The finals will see the race increased appropriately.
The PAU has appointed experienced match officials and umpires to ensure the smooth running of the tournament and to make rulings throughout the games.
All games are to follow a strict timing, as the time for the games will be screened, and no extra time will be given to any pair, a countdown will commence if any player is not around when a specific race commences.
Players are also expected to adhere to a strict dress code, wearing white polo shirts and black formal trousers or skirts, along with black formal shoes.
According to the rules endorsed by the tournament secretary Donald Ampumuza, any player who fails to comply with the dress code will face immediate consequences, including the loss of a frame and a 5-minute countdown before being allowed to return to the table in the proper attire.
Im addition, the use of toxic substances, drugs, and abusive or foul language will not be tolerated at the venue according to the rules and regulations. Offenders will be swiftly expelled from the venue, regardless of their stature or position.
Players will be entitled to a five-minute timeout for the entire race, and will only be given a chance once for a time out, finally, phones or any other electronic gadgets are not allowed during the games.
The Pool King & Queen Championship Grand Finale will be broadcast live on NBS Sport, and the prizes for the top performers will range from cash and trophies to medals. The best male player will earn UGX 3 million, while the outstanding female player will pocket UGX 2 million.
