A team of 13 Ugandan athletes, consisting of six men and seven women, is set to return home tomorrow Thursday 27th after a triumphant performance at the Africa Senior Championship in Douala, Cameroon. The athletes have secured multiple medals, bringing pride and honor to their nation.
Before their departure, the President of the Uganda Athletics Federation, Domenic Otucet, expressed strong confidence in the team’s ability to succeed. This confidence proved to be well-placed as the team delivered outstanding performances.
Leonard Chemutai emerged victorious in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, winning a gold medal. Dradiga Tom added to the medal tally with a bronze in the men’s 800m.
In the women’s events, Lalam Josephine, claimed bronze in the javelin throw, further showcasing Uganda’s athletic prowess.
