Following their impressive victory in the first round of the Africa Rugby Sevens, Uganda’s Rugby Cranes have been drawn in Pool A for the second round of the tournament. The matches are scheduled to take place on July 6th and 7th.
Uganda will face Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, and Tunisia in their pool matches. The Rugby Cranes previously demonstrated their superiority over these teams, having defeated Burkina Faso 29-0, Cote d’Ivoire twice (22-17 in the initial game and 15-10 in the quarter-finals), and Tunisia 43-0 in the first round.
With 20 points already on the board, Uganda leads the standings going into the second round. To secure their spot in the 2025 HSBC Rugby Challenger Series, the Rugby Cranes will aim to reach the finals once again.
The upcoming matches will be crucial for Uganda as they seek to maintain their dominance and continue their journey toward qualification.
