We take a look at when the athletes will represent the country according to the competition schedule drafted by the organising committee of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Leading the charge for Uganda will be rower Kathleen Noble, who will be the first Ugandan athlete to take to the stage. She will be competing from July 27th to August 3rd, 2024.

Noble, a seasoned international competitor, will be looking to draw on her wealth of experience and unwavering determination to secure a podium finish and bring glory to her nation.

Following closely on the heels of Noble’s aquatic endeavors will be swimmer Gloria Muzito, who will take to the pool on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, for the heats and semifinals of the 100m freestyle event.

Muzito, who won a bronze medal for Uganda at the 2023 African Games in the 100m freestyle, will be aiming to showcase her exceptional talent and technique and win another medal for the country, with the finals scheduled for the following day, Wednesday, July 31st.

Joining Muzito will be another swimmer Jesse Ssengonzi, who will compete in the 100m Butterfly event between Friday, August 2nd, to Saturday, August 3rd.

Ssengonzi, known for his explosive speed and fluid strokes, will be determined to make a lasting impression and secure a spot on the podium.

Cyclist Charles Kagimu will also be in action on August 3rd. Kagimu, a seasoned veteran of the sport, has been meticulously training in the high-altitude region of Kaplagat/Iten, Kenya, honing his skills and endurance to ensure he is in peak condition for the Olympic challenge.

As the tournament progresses, the spotlight will then shift to the athletics program, the highlight of the Olympic Games.

The athletics will commence on August 2nd with the women’s 800m Round 1 and the final in the men’s 10,000m. Other races will take place between that time and the tournament’s conclusion on August 11th.

Athletes like Joshua Cheptegei, Peruth Chemutai and Jacob Kiplimo will be hoping to win more medals for the country at the Olympics, while othes like Oscar Chelimo, Martin Magengo Kiprotich and Winne Nanyondo will aim to aim their maiden Olympic medals.

Ugandan fans will be eagerly anticipating the performances of their nation’s track and field stars, who have consistently proven their mettle on the global stage.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Olympic Committee has announced the selection of its international technical officials who will be coaching the athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

These individuals include Joseph Collins Ssemmanda (Modern Pentathlon), Salim Musoke (Weightlifting), Max Kanyerezi (Aquatics), and Shamira Nabadda (Football), each bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to their respective disciplines.

Uganda’s impressive performance at the previous Tokyo Olympics, where they secured 4 medals, including 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze, has set a high bar for the nation’s athletes.

With a contingent of 25 athletes, including 21 from athletics, a rower, a cyclist, and two swimmers, Uganda is poised to make a significant impact at the 2024 Paris Olympics that will take place between July 26th and August 11th.
